Between the lines and the Chin Waggles: Reflecting on the reading
Reading Reflection
Well hello hello hello again to you all that have come from far and wide and from all over to present some more of my many chin waggling escapades that all comes together to make a lengthy blog of my escapades into the world of game design that a lot of you seem to enjoy reading. So, today I though that I take a little step back and think and I decided that I would have a reflection on all the stuff that I have learned in the past couple of weeks and reflect on how it has helped me to get a better understanding of the intricate world of Game Design and Development and how it has helped me shape my game design concept and where I can see it going in the future (I may be really far behind in that area of design but it is worth an effort to find some time to get a lot of it done, but as long as i have made something then it should all be good). So Without further ado let me get started into this lengthy Chin Waggle.
In the past couple of weeks I have read countless numbers of different readings from the likes of Mindfulness, managing time, the basic understanding of a Game Design Document (GDD) a Level Layouts and Design Document, Some basic importance on making decisions in your game from feedback by others to the MDA (Mechanical, Dynamic and Aesthetic) of a game all the way to the importance of having and implementing fun into a game design. There has been a lot of stuff that I have learned that has helped me get a better grasp of what exactly Game Design is really all about. These readings have been a big help as I would've been hitting a brick wall trying to come up with a concept for my Game idea and with the help of following those readings it has helped to break through that wall and get to the level that i have with my idea that i have crafted from that simple idea and just went from there. If I had to go back to probably my favourite reading it is a tough choice as they all have a distinct version to them but if i had to choose it would probably have to be the reading on fun in Game Design or one of the very first readings that I did on what I had envisioned my world of game design. I enjoyed these ones because it is the importance that i felt from the first reading that it helps us give our own opinion of what we would see as a game design and how we want to make the likes of the next fun game like "Untitled Goose Game", "Dream Daddy", "Metal Gear Solid", "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild" or any other game. For the reading on fun, it is something that I would put a lot of times front and centre to help get a clearer vision whenever I make a game, whether it is through a game design, character design, concept art or any other form of media, I make sure that what I am making is something that I see as being fun and exciting and not basic and boring and dull, then what would the point of doing a design or make a game if it isn't fun. This is what I do with my chin waggling blogs I would take the readings, take extracts from the links that I am provided but also give my input into something that is similar to the readings to give another perspective to it all.
(let's rest a while traveller and reflect on how far we have come)

A Favourite Piece
If I could go back to any of my readings and project blogs that I have done and I had to choose one piece of imagery that I have displayed in the past that I would choose to be my favourite it would be this one:
(it was the first design concept and the character that was their from the very beginning)
After having so many pieces of concept art, concepts, character design (with more of all of them to come) it was the Character Design for my main character Shimmer that i would pick as my favourite piece of imagery that I have placed into my blogs as when I was developing out this game design it was this design that was sticking with me throughout the development of my game concept idea since the very beginning and I am happy with how that design turned out from that brainstorming session and I hope that when I have the time and a lengthy period of free time to do so, I would hope to make this design into a 3d moving character and make it into the game and my design a reality.
A hope for the Future
(the wise words from Doctor Emmet Brown)
As I come to the end of a lengthy reflection period of the past and what I have learned, it's time that I look in the other direction and look at the future and where do I want to see this going. If I had to decide it would be that the main idea would be to hopefully that with enough time, a lot of catchup, a balancing of time in my schedule and everything else in between, I hope that I can make my Game concept a reality, whether it be an unfinished attempt with at least the idea of where i want to go with it, or a group of us coming together to make it a reality in the future (depends if that is something that I want to see happen, just depends who would find an interest to do so and maybe implement some of their ideas into it) and I hope that I can improve upon my skills as I learn this to make many more games in the future for the entertainment of many. There are other hopes for the future that I have but they are off topic to the subject at hand so I won't say what they are.
so, anyway that is all that i have to say about the topic at hand and it was nice to go back and reflect on my journey as it was a lot of fun. Anyway that is all the time that I have for this little chin waggle. So until Next time.
Cheerio!!!
