Welcome to the Game: the world of Game design
Welcome to the game: the world of age design.
Well hello again to you lads and ladies to another stupendous and top notch blog from yours truly. So I am back to talk to you about the world of Video Games, but I am not here to talk about one particular game chaps, oh no, today Inam going to talk about where they all have their origins. This is the world of Game Design that I shall be having a little chin wag about. So without further ado, let us begin shall we.
So in the world today, we are surrounded by an endless barrage of new and interesting concepts of video games from developers and influencers from all around the world. You probably sit there and think “by Jove, this crazy conception of all these electronic entertainment pieces seem very outlandish and is truly the bees knees, but there is no way that I could do something like that”. Well let me stop you right there as that phrase is a load of poppycock, because we all have the capability to be able to make a video game of our very known, so there is no need to fear the concept of it.
The one thing that is always said by those that have a fear of getting out there and making a game is the one phrase that is always said: “I am not imaginative enough to create a video game”. By Jove, pull yourself together of course you can. Any idea, even if it seems so outrageously bonkers or mad, it could the next greatest hit on the market. Any idea like creating stars from random objects and even unsuspecting humans so that you can please your father who is the king of all cosmos, a turn based RPG where you could fight or could just talk to them or even pet them into infinity, to even a game where you could be playing as a loud obnoxious goose that causes hijinks for the civilians of a quaint little village could become a quite peaceful and stress relieving experience you could play. And just because you feel you can’t do it, the only person that is putting you down is yourself and the fear that is nagging at you in the back of your mind telling you can, when in fact you can, my good fellow. Just know that all it takes is a concept and to build upon it because not every designer is gonna strike gold straight away, it takes time and to build upon the concept and skills to make it something great like a triple A game of Survival that could drive a man to tears, a very scary game that could spook the socks right off of your feet to even a dating sim about dating...... pigeons/ dads or even mascots from successful restaurant chains, you have the ability to create it and make the next great thing.
Well that is all I have to say for the moment on what I would have to say about the splendid and wonderful world of Game design and I hope that you got a bit of inspiration and learned a bit of knowledge in the hope that you take some of this on when you decide to delve into the world of Game Design. Well I better get going. Until Next time.
Cheerio!!!
Hey Sam,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this, the way you write about the readings we do each week is fun and interesting, it really keeps your attention. This post was also really inspirational and makes me want to create my own wacky and fun game because like you said the only person stopping me is me.
